Fiona had a Dance performance on Saturday.... No time for painting.... Sunday we were busy with various activities.... And today John returned from 3 weeks of travel.  Well, Now John is in bed early, and I am winding down, watching THE VOICE and it's now Studio Time. Using shells or other vessels.  I was introduced to Guar Gum. Of course, I could buy Tempera paint in powder, but that wasn't really what I was looking for.... I want to learn more about creating paints using natural resources... Hand mixing pigments, and more... I have become passionate about earthly organic and natural pigments and materials, understanding where colors and materials come from.... Where did original Reds, blues, and golds come from. At the

Day 10 of the 30 Day Challenge

Today was the first day of the new school year.  It was also another day of excessive heat.  I got caught up on some basic house work, errands, and didn't sit to paint until at Fiona's dance class... So a simple practice session with Watercolors on cardstock.  Mainly experimenting with product and texture. Out of a few different attempts, this was my favorite.  I will turn it into a greeting card. "Sunflower in Pointillism"* Single Card $5.00 Set of 5 Cards* $22.00 All images will be similar, but no two are the same. Each card is individually painted.

30 Day Challenge, Day 9....

Today it was H. O. T. The majority of the country was way above normal temperature... And California was right there with the rest of the country. 89° inside the house, and no breeze. I bought flowers and am not surprised that they are looking warm and wilted early.... I drop an ice cube into the vase to wake the blooms from their hot and wilted appearance. An easy way to preserve my flowers??? Paint them!!! "Evening Roses" 9" x 12" Oil $150.00

Thirty Day Challenge, Day 8

A few days ago I posted an older painting, with the intention to rework it. I put it on my easel and gave it an oil makeover... "Bamboo with Jasmine" Oil over Acrylic, on Canvas 6" x 12"  $85.00
