So here's a photo I had in my "Paint Me" file. It is of my friend Frank, who I've known for over 30 years, and he and his band, Ninth Circle, have just released another album!!!
Working in Black and White is always a good challenge....
I was recently asked by some young students, where I got my start in art... Where did it all begin? For that, I had to think a little... and then it became rather easy to explain. I have always enjoyed color, coloring, crayons, drawing, and from a very young age remember drawing and painting in the kitchen when my mum was cooking or doing whatever it is mum does when a child is drawing. I distinctly remember putting my paintbrush into a glass of Orange Juice instead of the water beaker because I was using Orange Paint and they both looked the same. I must have been about 5 years old. I have recollections of bright and colorful things as a child, which undoubtedly have influenced me. My parents taking me places, encouraging my creativity, and always singing, and dancing, and just enjoying art and my surroundings. I remember Daffodils. Mum would recite poetry and I know that has had some impact. Art and Music go hand-in-hand in our family... ...
September 2023 Suzanne will be in Escalante Canyons in September for the Arts Festival. Setting up for a weeks worth of Painting, PleinAir, Pastels, Oils, Clouds, Canyons, My travel companion is nicknamed "Jake" and has 4 wheels and some creature comforts... and will be a fun adventure. Packing my Paints: Primaries, Blues, Yellow and a variety of REDS!!! I AM going to Bryce Canyon, after all. I have all sorts of things to try! Packing the Brushes: Scrubby Brushes, new brushes, and my Rosemary Brushes. And assortment of brushes for every situation. Here's an assortment of Blues: 💙 Canvas, Boards, Wood, Paper, Palette, Easels, and Frames. My biggest decision will be knowing which to use first.
